Tickets now on sale

The seventh annual Lewiston Region Tour of Kitchens will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 and 7 in Lewiston and Youngstown. Five entertaining and cooking spaces will be featured. Each home will be paired with a retailer and/or decorator who will create tablescapes - an artful way to set a table for guests. At each stop, ticketholders will be treated to a culinary sample created by an area restaurant chef.

Home addresses, details and a map all are included with the event program, which is given to ticket buyers. Tickets, $27, are available at all Wegmans locations (until 4 p.m. Friday, June 5); at the Lewiston DiCamillo Bakery location (535 Center St.); at The Village Bake Shoppe (417 Center St., until 7 p.m. Friday, June 5); and online at www.TourofKitchens.net.

Any tickets still available after those times can be purchased after 9 a.m. on the days of the event at the Tour of Kitchen's official tent located on the corner of Center and First streets in Lewiston.

This year's participating chefs come from the following eateries/catering companies:

  • Center Cut: A Village Steakhouse
  • The Wilson Boat House
  • The Sunset Grill
  • Catering by Daniela
  • Water Street Landing
  • M. Hibbard Frozen Custard
  • Hard Rock Café, Niagara Falls, USA

Included in the ticket price is a dessert tasting at The Barton Hill Hotel & Spa (100 Center St.), featuring sweets from The Village Bake Shoppe and DiCamillo Bakery, as well as a wine tasting and culinary sampling at Water Street Landing (115 S. Water St.).

The Tour of Kitchens is a self-guided tour. Featured tablescapes will be designed by the following:

  • A-1 Land Care
  • 5 Foxes Glass
  • Piccirillo's Florist
  • Harris & Lever Florist
  • Teresa Ruffolo and Judy Villani
  • Le Creuset - Niagara Falls
  • NestWell
  • The Country Doctor
  • RTM Design & Interiors
  • Room-Buffalo
  • Enchanted Florist
  • All Seasons Rental

Tickets are limited and this event is expected to sell out during the pre-sale. It is strongly recommended tickets be purchased in advance.

Proceeds from the Tour of Kitchens will benefit the Historical Association of Lewiston and the Porter Historical Society. For more information, call 716-524-3001 or visit www.TourofKitchens.net.

In addition to the Tour of Kitchens, the Youngstown Garden Club will feature a "Youngstown in Bloom" flower market and perennial sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bistro at the Old Fort Inn (110 Main St.). Included will be perennials from members' gardens, culinary herbs and other garden items available for purchase.

Back by popular demand, the third annual jewelry, home décor and culinary market will be held just steps from Center Street, at the Lewiston No. 1 Firehall (165 N. Sixth St.). Stop in any time from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. to find more than 20 vendors offering everything from unique jewelry pieces to kitchen tools and home accessories, as well as culinary items such as specialty olive oils, nuts and chocolate, just to name a few.

Both of these ancillary events are open to the public.
