Travel and tourism professionals will represent the region to international media for the first time at this tradeshow

Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp. will be present at U.S. Travel Association's IPW, the travel industry's premier international marketplace and largest generator of travel to the U.S.

International visitation has always been integral to tourism in Niagara County. According to NTCC, it is important to interact with tourism businesses and international media to ensure they are aware of the assets in the region and have a presence on a global stage.

"Our mission is to bring more international media and group visitation to the destination," NTCC CEO and President John Percy said. "It is essential for us to develop these relationships so global members of the media, and travel trade, are knowledgeable about Niagara USA. I view IPW as the marketplace for such successful partnerships to begin."

This is the first time members of NTCC's marketing and communications department will be in attendance at an international travel and tourism trade show. They will be meeting with almost 500 journalists at designated times and during networking events. An online marketplace has also been implemented for suppliers to guarantee their reach to the media attending IPW. A couple of their press releases and 2015 travel guide were already highlighted in daily roundups sent to every IPW attendee.

NTCC has a branded pressroom and staffers have been interacting with journalists, which should drive additional traffic to its trade show booth.

Director of Sales Elizabeth Davis is a veteran IPW attendee. She will be there meeting with international tour operators from around the world during the three-day intensive.

The NTCC is promoting the themes of history, outdoor activities, nature, wine and culinary to attendees from more than 100 countries.

The agency's mission is to expand the economic prosperity of the Niagara USA communities by generating individual and group visitation. For more information, visit niagara-usa.com.
