Erie County Legislator Kevin Hardwick has announced a hazardous waste drop-off event serving the Northtowns will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Erie Community College's North Campus.

Attendees are asked to enter from Wehrle Drive and follow the posted signs to the drop-off location.

"All residents with hazardous materials in their homes or garages are encouraged to drop off the materials at one of two collection events being sponsored by Erie County. We must do everything we can to ensure these materials do not end up in landfills or our waterways. Please take the time to dispose of materials properly and protect our community's environment," Hardwick said.

Participants may need to verify that wastes are generated by households.

A second event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the ECC South Campus.

For more information on this event or on the proper disposal of latex paint, call the Erie County household hazardous waste 24-hour hotline at 858-6800 or visit www.erie.gov/environment.

For additional information, contact Hardwick at 716-858-8672 or email [email protected].
