The succession plan is set. After 90 years as a solely family-owned business, Frank Budwey, owner of Budwey's Supermarket, announced he is gifting ownership to all 33 current Budwey's full-time employees and department managers.

"I'm thrilled that I have 33 new partners," Budwey said. "Most of my new partners have been with the store over 25 years, so to me, they are like family."

Budwey also announced he is investing more than $1 million in renovations and new equipment for the store. "My dream is that Budwey's will live long after I'm looking down from heaven at the Tonawandas. I believe by giving ownership and reinvesting in the store we are ensured that Budwey's Supermarket will continue to serve our community for many years to come. That's the Budwey way."
