Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will participate in the Lewiston-area's 10 Mile Garage Sale, which will take place Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 14.

Volunteers are collecting donations of new, gently used, antique and vintage items (no large furniture or clothing, please), which will be sold at the garage sale. The public is invited to drop off donations at any HON event, beginning this Saturday (11 a.m. until 2 p.m.) at Budwey's Supermarkets, and Sunday (noon to 3 p.m.) at Colton RV, both in North Tonawanda. Donated items also will be collected at the HON May and June volunteer meetings at First Presbyterian Church on Cayuga Street in Lewiston.

To arrange for donation pickups, contact Linda van Harssel at 716-622-1213 or call HON's main telephone number at 716-345-7129.

At the 10 Mile Garage Sale, HON will set up at 445 East Lane (between Oxbow Lane and Mohawk Street) in the Village of Lewiston. This spot provides ample parking and easy in and out access.

The public will be able to shop and meet some of HON's adoptable dogs throughout the garage sale weekend.

Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. Volunteers operate solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.
