New Directions Youth and Family Services has announced its sixth annual fundraiser, this year titled "Casual Elegance," will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Foundry Hotel & Banquet, 1738 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo.

Held at one of Buffalo's newest and hottest venues, "Casual Elegance" will provide attendees an opportunity to learn more about one of Western New York's human services agencies. The event will feature wine and beer tastings, games and charity raffles, with all proceeds earmarked to help hundreds of at-risk children throughout the region.

The event will showcase a variety of featured libations from Western New York distributors, wineries and breweries, including Empire Merchants, Opici Wine Company, Vizcarra Vineyards, Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Flying Bison Brewery and Southern Tier Brewing Co.

All of the distributors will volunteer their staff and award-winning vintages to help support the event. Professionally trained wine and beer experts will be on hand to discuss drink and food pairings, as well as educate guests about wine tasting techniques.

Ashker's Juice Bar will provide juices for those who want a non-alcohol alternative.

"This annual event is a great opportunity for our guests and friends to learn about the valuable services we provide for helping at-risk children succeed," New Directions CEO Jim Coder said.

Tickets to the event cost $40 per person or $75 a couple, which include all wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres and any additional samplings. Guests will be able to take part in a special prize raffle and basket raffles. Prizes include specialty artwork, an iPad, a flat-screen television, an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch tablet, a GoPro video camera, Buffalo Sabres tickets, Vera Bradley accessories, restaurant gift certificates, Lewiston food tour tickets, jewelry, mountain bikes, a giant Jenga game set, a zip-lining package and a corporate team building session on the New Directions campus.
