Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue at Menne Nursery 'Spring Celebration'

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will be present with adoptable dogs this Saturday (10 a.m. until 2 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 3 p.m.) at Menne Nursery Garden Artistry's "Spring Celebration Event," 3100 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. The event includes free gardening classes, WBEN's Domenic Cortese at 10 a.m. (Saturday only) and refreshments. Stop by and visit with the rescue's adorable adoptable dogs Hope, Jazzy, Beethoven, Boston and Romeo.

Photos and information on these and all of the rescue's adoptable animals are available on the HON website, www.heartofniagara.org.

The public is invited to come and find out more about the adoption process, fostering, volunteer opportunities, animal care and upcoming meetings and events. Dog food donations of Science Diet and Purina One will be gladly accepted at the adoption event.

Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. As of early this month, adoption totals reached 300. Volunteers operate solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.

Meetings take place from 6:30-8 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month at First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St. New volunteers are always welcome.
