The management at Ransomville Speedway has been busy preparing for its 58th season of competition. Promoters Jamie and Joel Friesen are always looking for ways to further enhance their program at one of the more successful and historic tracks in the northeast.

This year's "Battle at the Border" is slated for Wednesday, July 1. It will be a big block/small block modified shootout offering $4,000 to the first big block to cross the finish line and $4,000 to the first small block to cross the finish line. An additional $3,000 has been added to the purse.

These changes came about due to the changes within the Super DIRTcar 358 Modified and Sportsman Series. Also being awarded is a preferred Syracuse Super DIRT Week spot to the first big block modified and also a guaranteed Syracuse Super DIRT Week spot to the first 358 modified.

"With DIRTcar changing the format of these series to concentrating primarily in the fall, this meant changes to our 'Battle at the Border,' which had hosted the twin series for the past few years," Ransomville Speedway PR Director Tana Robinson said. "Jamie and Joel came up with what I think is one of the most unique ideas yet."

Additionally, the Grit Sportsman Series will make its debut at the Big R.
