"Lewiston's lifestyle destination" is now offering yoga classes.

700 Center recently added a yoga studio to complement the wellness center's Juice Bistro & Café, Naturally Organics and Barbara Crouthamel's Lovin My Bags designer handbag offerings.

"We had people asking," studio manager Roz DiBacco said. "We were doing yoga in the bistro on Wednesday night. One of the girls that comes in ... she's an instructor and she was doing it in there to bring people in.

"A lot of people were saying to Barb, 'Boy, it would be great to have a studio.' So we decided we're going to make a studio. It was really demand from the public."

"It kind of goes along with the whole theme here of natural and organic foods; organic body spa products," she added.

Classes, times and certified instructors are listed online at www.700centerstreet.com. Participants can use the website to register and vote for their preferred session times, too.

"Our schedule is posted on there and updated daily," DiBacco said. "They can register for class on this page, as well."

Blankets, yoga mats, blocks and straps are available; clothes may be offered in the future.

"We want to have other things in this studio; Pilates; you know, yoga at all levels, and for all people," DiBacco said.

"For the yoga, people are welcome to walk in," she said. "They're welcome to pay by the session. We have some packages that we're going to offer."

The studio is considering adding meditation and free-weight training, as well as events and seminars.

Additionally, "People can rent the space," DiBacco said. "There's a lot going on here."

700 Center is offering a special bonus to yoga enthusiasts.

"For anyone who does take class here, it gets them some things that they may not get at other studios," DiBacco said. "We issue these little two-sided tickets (similar to a raffle ticket). One ticket goes into a fishbowl with their name and phone number, and they keep the other half. The other half is good for 10 percent off either in here (Naturally Organics) on body spa products, or in the café. They can hold onto it and use it any time they want.

"The other half that goes into the fishbowl, the last day of each month we're going to draw a name and (the winner) will get a gift card to the bistro."

DiBacco said the studio is looking to expand and add more yoga instructors. For more information, call 716-429-5466 or 716-405-7130.
