"Tia Mowry at Home" premieres Wednesday, April 29

Come along as actress, wife and mom Tia Mowry shares her recipes for success - and for dinner - on "Tia Mowry at Home," premiering Wednesday, April 29 (9 p.m. ET), on Cooking Channel. Growing up with parents in the armed services, she enjoyed tasting a variety of flavors in the different cities they lived. Ever since, these influences have sparked her desire to cook for her own loved ones. Whether it is a healthy meal for her son and husband, or a dinner party for her best friends, creating tasty and tempting foods is the part of her day that brings the biggest smiles.

"Tia Mowry is a welcome addition to the Cooking Channel family. Audiences have watched her grow up in front of the camera. Now, they will get a taste of her passion for preparing home cooked meals, and a look inside her life as a full-time mother and working actress," said Michael Smith, general manager and senior vice president at Cooking Channel.

"Over the years, my fans have become familiar with my style on the red carpet. Now, I'm excited to share my style in the kitchen, and a more personal side of my life," Mowry said.

Over the course of the six half-hour long episodes, viewers will get a glimpse at how Mowry balances her hectic schedule with spending time with her family and friends.

In one episode, she prepares the most important meal of the day - breakfast. To kick off the day right, she begins with an outdoor yoga lesson with instructor Alex Crow, and her friend, actress Natasha Marc. Mowry has a ball in another episode when her son, Cree's, friends come over for a play-date. It's a winning surprise when they get an impromptu basketball lesson from NBA all-star Metta World Peace.

Throughout the season Mowry prepares fast, healthy and delicious meals ranging from grilled lollipop lamb chops for a romantic date night, to Cornish game hens with a side of collard greens for a fun girls' night in. It is a busy and full life, but Mowry would not change a thing!

Mowry has been in the public eye for more than 20 years, gaining initial fame in her teens starring opposite her twin sister, Tamera, in the hit comedy "Sister Sister." Her work on the series won her two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, and three Kids Choice Awards for Favorite Television Actress.

After the series wrapped production, Mowry attended Pepperdine University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology. After graduating, Mowry returned to television starring in "The Game" on The CW and BET, and The Style Network's "Tia and Tamera," where she also served as executive producer.

In 2013, Mowry published her debut book, "Oh Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another." She will be releasing a series of young adult books with her sister, titled "Twintuition," in April.

Currently, Mowry can be seen starring on and producing the hit Nickelodeon series "Instant Mom." When not acting, she spends time in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, and her son Cree Taylor.
