Majority of ice surface will remain open
Effective today, a crew will be on hand to repair a small section of The Ice at Canalside (approximately 2 percent of the 33,000-square-foot skating surface). The majority of the ice will remain open and available for public skating and other activities with the complete schedule available at www.canalsidebuffalo.com.
The repair, which includes removing a nominal amount of ice and concrete, is expected to be complete by the end of the week.
In its opening season, The Ice at Canalside has attracted more than 45,000 people to Canalside, including recreational skaters, those who rented the ice bikes, curlers and pond hockey teams.
