Obit: David R. Flaim

David R. Flaim, 69, of Grand Island, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, in Amherst. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Albeno and Margaret (Mossatti) Flaim.

David attended local schools, including Niagara County Community College, where he earned an associate's degree. In 1966, he married Melinda (McCumber) Flaim, who predeceased him in 2003. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Cannon Design on Grand Island for 30 years. David had a passion for his cars, which he enjoyed taking to various shows. He especially loved the 1932 Coupe he built. But David's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

David is survived by two children, Kristine (Gary) Price of Amherst, and Eric (Denise) Flaim of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren: Sarah, Spencer, Nickolas and Nino; and one brother: Daniel (Marjorie) Flaim of Grand Island.

Services were held at the M. J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, on Thursday, Feb. 5. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
