Help for caregivers and those who are grieving

Are you caring for someone with a serious illness? Do you or someone you know need help coping with the loss of a loved one? There are many support groups offered at Life Transitions Center, 150 Bennett Road, Cheektowaga - a number of them at no charge to the community:

•Tuesday, Feb 10: Suicide bereavement group is offered from 6:30-8:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one from suicide. A professional mental health counselor leads the group.

•Wednesdays, Feb 18 and March 4: Caregiver support group is offered from 6-7:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of the month for caregivers and those supporting a family member or friend coping with a serious illness. Call 716-836-6460 to register or email Lyons at [email protected]

•Tuesday, March 3: Alzheimer's support group is offered from 6-7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month by the Alzheimer's Association of WNY Chapter. Call 1-800-272-3900 for more information.
