On Fridays, Feb. 6 and 13, the Queen City Roller Girls, Western New York's premier women's flat track roller derby league, will make its debut within Buffalo city limits, as skaters stage their 2015 "icebreaker" games - previews of the upcoming home season at a new home venue, the Buffalo RiverWorks entertainment and event center located on the shore of the Buffalo River.

After eight successful seasons in North Tonawanda, Queen City Roller Girls will bring a brand of excitement to Buffalo at Buffalo RiverWorks, a new multipurpose venue located at 359 Ganson St. RiverWorks will host the Queen City Roller Girls on a first-in-kind purpose-built roller derby track.

The regular schedule kicks off Friday, Feb. 27.

The first of the games Feb. 6 will be a rematch of the 2014 championship, as the three-time defending champion Nickel City Knockouts take on the Suicidal Saucies. That will be followed Feb. 13 with a bout between the Devil Dollies and Alley Kats.

Both games will start at 7:30 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.). Tickets for the preview are available at a discounted rate of $10 at the door only. Tickets for the remainder of the 2015 season, including season and team packages, will be announced soon and available at http://www.qcrg.net/tickets.

In addition to roller derby, Buffalo RiverWorks will house bars, restaurants, a brewery, concert venues, covered outdoor ice rinks and a second-level mezzanine overlooking the track.
