State Sen. Marc Panepinto released the following statement on his appointment to eight separate New York State Senate committees:

"I am very pleased to have earned a seat on eight powerful Senate committees that tackle numerous issues and policies impacting the people of the 60th Senate District. As ranking member to the committee on agriculture, I look forward to working with farmers and small businesses towards the expansion of this $6 billion statewide industry. As ranking member to the committee on local government, I will work tirelessly to reduce the state-induced burdens on our municipalities that prevent them from more effectively serving our communities. Finally, I'm grateful that I will have the opportunity to address veterans affairs, lower property taxes and the improvement of our state's existing infrastructure on the committees on housing, transportation, and veterans, homeland security and military affairs."

Panepinto's full committee assignment list is as follows:

  • Committee on agriculture, ranking member
  • Committee on local government, ranking member
  • Committee on veterans, homeland security and military affairs
  • Committee on housing, construction and community development
  • Committee on codes
  • Committee on health
  • Committee on transportation
  • Committee on insurance

Panepinto represents the 60th Senate District, which includes parts of the City of Buffalo as well as communities in both the north towns and the south towns.
