Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports deputies arrested Adeela Bonavito, 35, of Buffalo, and have obtained a warrant for another subject's arrest for his role in a burglary Dec. 1.

According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the two subjects went to a victim's residence on Baseline Road in Grand Island where they allegedly kicked in the door, assaulted the victim and fled the building with the victim's television.

Deputies Jason Clark and Bradley Girdler responded to the residence and began searching the area for the subjects and their vehicle with negative results.

In a statement, the victim identified the individuals that assaulted her and stole her TV. Working from that description, deputies continued their search, and Dec. 23 they arrested Bonavito.

She was charged with four felonies, including robbery, burglary, assault and criminal mischief. Deputies transported Bonavito to the Erie County Holding Center where she is being held on $25,000 bail. Her scheduled court appearance was Dec. 26 in Grand Island Town Court.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office is still looking for the other subject, Melvin Johnson, 38, of Buffalo.
