Local award-winning college a-cappella group "The Buffalo Chips" will celebrate their 20th anniversary at their annual Valentine's Day concert this year. "The Buffalo Chips" current lineup will be joined by alumni members who will represent every year of the group's history.
The concert will be held at the Center for the Arts Mainstage Theatre on The University at Buffalo's North Campus at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. Admission is $10. Tickets are available at all Tickets.com locations, including the Center for the Arts box office, online at www.tickets.com, and at the door on the day of the show.
The Buffalo Chips began as an entrepreneurial pursuit in 1995 as a self-sustained, unsponsored student-run organization at The University at Buffalo. The group started and continues to perform music in the style of Pentatonix and Straight No Chaser. It has represented UB at numerous functions both locally and nationally, including performing for President Barrack Obama during his visit to Buffalo in August of 2013. The Buffalo Chips recently recorded a tenth full-length album, "Blue & White," was released in February 2013, and is available for purchase in both CD and downloadable formats.
