Stabbing on Saunders Settlement Road

This morning at 12:44 a.m., the Lewiston Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road for a stabbing/assault. Upon arrival, patrols found a 24-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back of the head and cut in the neck and on his shoulder with a knife during an altercation. The male was conscious, bleeding and in respiratory distress from the trauma to his neck.

Tri-Community EMS and the Sanborn Fire Department responded and transported the victim to Erie County Medical Center, where he required emergency surgery.

Following a LPD investigation, a 27-year-old Sheena Anderson from the City of Niagara Falls was arrested at her mother's residence on Maple Avenue. Anderson allegedly used a kitchen knife during the incident and was charged with assault in the first degree with a deadly weapon, a class B felony.

Anderson was arraigned in the Town of Lewiston Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

The assisting agencies were the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Town of Niagara Police and City of Niagara Falls Police.
