Two creative Lewiston residents and a local business won "Best in Show - The People's Choice Award" at the Lewiston Historical Association's annual Tour of Homes, Dec. 6 and 7.

" 'The Cozy Cottage,' owned by Jan and Greg Czech on Cayuga Street, was the perfect pallet for Tasia Fitzpatrick and Susan Hofert to work their magic," said event coordinator Sandy Hays Mies. "Tasia and Susan created a well-thought-out and detailed decorating scheme for the home that fit its historic significance. They used and repurposed many of the homeowner's personal items and supplemented with several unique items on loan from Patti Johnson of Patricia's Back Barn, located at 6610 Shawnee Road in North Tonawanda.

"Although all designers received rave reviews, the design and holiday décor at the 'Cozy (Cottage)' took the grand prize."

Organizers report more than 1,600 attended the 10th annual Tour of Homes. The event serves as a major fundraiser for the Historical Association of Lewiston. Four homes were on the tour and 15 decorators and tablescape artists were featured. Each ticketholder was invited to vote for a favorite décor and holiday theme.

Photos of all of the homes will be featured on the event website, www.lewistonhometour.com, after Jan. 15.
