Volunteers from the Historic Association of Lewiston performed maintenance Thursday on both the Freedom Crossing and Tuscarora Heroes monuments in Lewiston.

Susan Geissler, sculptor of both monuments, said, "Simple, periodic cleaning and waxing of the bronze sculptures will assure that these treasures will remain in pristine condition as they continue their long journey down through the ages."

Pictured are volunteers Tim Henderson, Brian Beebe, Pete Henderson, Geissler and Pam and Skip Hauth at the Freedom Crossing Monument.

Both monuments can be viewed by going to the HAL Web cameras at www.historiclewiston.org and clicking on the links to each installation. (photo by Bruce Sutherland)
