Grand Island Professional Women's Chapter New York State Women Inc. will hold a vendors fair on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grand Island Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752, 1841 Whitehaven Road. The shopping event benefits the chapter's new scholarship fund. Dawn Bonora is vendor fair chairperson.

Chapter President Diane Dinsmore said that the Grand Island Professional Women have run two previous shopping events and have had good response from both vendors and the public.

"It gives people the chance to get a little bit of a head start on holiday shopping and to see interesting new products," Dinsmore said.

According to Dinsmore, the vendor fair supports a changed scholarship program.

"We have changed our scholarship program this year," Dinsmore said. "We will be helping women who are already in the workforce and need to further their education to advance in their field."

"We also will help women who are re-entering the work force and need to brush up on their skills. Currently there is no avenue for them to get very much financial help. This new program is what our organization is all about," she added.

Bonora is handling vendor information and vendor tables. She can be contacted at 716-570-2023 or at [email protected].

Admission is $5 and includes tickets for a Chinese auction, with items donated by participating vendors.

For additional information, contact Dinsmore at 716-308-6230 or at [email protected].
