The Grand Island High School Art Club and the Grand Island Recreation Department will once again work together to put on a weekend of Halloween activities. Events for children, teens, and adults will take place on the weekend before Halloween at the Nike Base on Grand Island.

Props, make-up and costumes are student-designed and built, and the actors are all students from the GIHS Art Club and the GIHS drama club, Spotlighters. Both events are fully chaperoned by teachers and parent volunteers.

On Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. the Community Center will come alive with beings creepy enough to scare pre-teens and adults in the "Isle of Horror!" This is a scary haunted house, intended for teens and adults. The cost is $5 per victim.

For the little ones, Art Club will present a new, even gentler "Isle of Spooky Fun" on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Rec Building. This area will offer friendly spooks and fairy tale characters to delight youngsters. They will even receive little treats along the way.

The children will then be directed to the Senior Center to enjoy games, crafts, face-painting, contests, and treats. The Halloween Party is sponsored by the Town Rec Department. The $5 per person charge includes admission to both the "Isle of Spooky Fun" and the Halloween Party.

All proceeds from the event benefit the GIHS Art Club. To make donations of Halloween props, decorations or costumes, call Cindy Wynne at 716-773-8820.
