The New York State Department of Transportation announced Thursday travel restrictions will continue on NY Route 384 (Buffalo Avenue), and Interstate 190, in the City of Niagara Falls, to allow for the continuing construction of new bridges carrying the thruway over Buffalo Avenue.

From Monday, Oct. 27, through Friday, Oct. 31, the I-190 northbound and southbound, in the vicinity of NY Route 384, will be subject to daily lane closures from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. In addition, nightly lane closures are scheduled to occur from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday. This work is weather-sensitive and could be delayed in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists on the I-190 are advised to allow for additional travel time. Motorists are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
