The New York State Department of Transportation today announced work is continuing on the project to reconstruct the Interstate 190 bridges over the Niagara Power Project in the towns of Niagara and Lewiston.

From Wednesday through Friday, motorists should expect to encounter daily lane closures from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on I-190 northbound, in the vicinity of the Niagara Power Project. Motorists on I-190 northbound are advised to allow extra travel time.

Motorists are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
