The scores are in and, based on creativity, construction and uniqueness, the overall winner of the 2014 Niagara River Region Scarecrow Display is "Bum Jovi" by Melloni's Market Place in Youngstown. The creative and humorous display is located in front of the popular Youngstown grocery store at 200 Lockport St.
Three additional Lewiston winners were chosen from all entries, including: Realty USA with "SAL (sale)"; After Glow Spa and Hair Studio with "Scare glow"; and Vincenzo's Pizza House with "The Pizza Pirate."
Additional displays can be found along Center Street in Lewiston, in Youngstown, and at the corner of routes 31 and 429 in Sanborn.
The Chamber of Commerce also hosted a window display contest to showcase the works that are thoughtfully created by retailers. This year's winner was Antique to Chic (536 Center St., Lewiston) with its "Bewildered" display just edging out the masquerade display by Soully Created (744 Center St.).
Winners will receive a cash award from the Chamber of Commerce, and the business winners will receive an advertising certificate from Niagara Frontier Publications.
The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce annually hosts the Scarecrow Display.
