Tickets go on sale Friday

The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present Buddy Guy at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Tickets, priced at $49 and $39, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Guy is returning by overwhelming demand after his back-to-back sold-out performances at the Center for the Arts. At age 78, he is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city's halcyon days of electric blues.

Guy has received five Grammy Awards, 28 Blues Music Awards (formerly W.C. Handy Awards), the Billboard magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone ranked him in the top 30 of its "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

Tickets are available at the Center Box Office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and tickets.com. To charge tickets, call 1-888-223-6000. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org and www.buddyguy.net.
