Obit: Florence C. (Pullano) Costantino

Florence C. (Pullano) Costantino, age 96, formerly of Grand Island, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Elderwood Health Care at Oakwood in Amherst.

Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Marino) Pullano. Florence was raised and educated in Niagara Falls.

She worked at the former Trapasso's Five and Ten located on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls. She later lived in Pensacola, Fla., Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and spent the final 40 years of her life as a resident of Grand Island.

She twice visited Pentone, Italy, the village from which her parents immigrated to the United States.

Mrs. Costantino was predeceased by her husband, Vincent A. Porreca, and later husband Joseph J. Costantino.

She is survived by her two sons, Vincent J. (Karen) Porreca of Boulder, Colo., and Joseph L. (Paula) Costantino of Ljubljana, Slovenia; three grandchildren, Courtney (George) Perkins, Anthony Porreca and Francesca Costantino; and great-granddaughter Cora Rose Perkins; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor (late Ernest) Bevilacqua and Rose (late Joseph) Granieri; and one brother, Lt. Col. Anthony (late Jamis) Pullano, U.S.A.
