OnFriday, Oct. 3, the first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, makes her first appearance on "The Chew." Taped earlier this week, Obama joined co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz in the kitchen to discuss improving school nutrition and emphasize the importance of cooking at home as part of her "Let's Move!" initiative to combat childhood obesity.
Sam Kass, assistant White House chef and executive director of "Let's Move!," joined "The Chew," demonstrating a recipe that was created by a young chef at the third annual "Lunchtime Challenge and Kids' State Dinner."
