A holiday tradition is returning to the Niagara region.

The Greater Niagara Ballet Co. and the United Way of Greater Niagara are teaming up to present the "Sugarplum Fairy Breakfast" -- an offshoot of the popular but discontinued "Barbie Luncheon" -- on Saturday, Nov. 12. All children in attendance will receive a special Barbie doll and enter to win a "Holiday" Barbie.

Families can enjoy breakfast and interact with character dancers participating in the GNBC's annual holiday production of "The Nutcracker." The "Sugarplum Fairy Breakfast" also includes a basket raffle; an "American Girl" doll drawing; activities such as "make-a-crown," storytelling and mini-ballet lessons; and photos with the "Sugarplums" (for a nominal fee).

The event is a fundraiser for the United Way and the GNBC. The breakfast runs from 10 a.m. until noon at Antonio's Restaurant, Banquet and Conference Center, 7708 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls.

Tickets are $20 per child and $25 per adult, or $60 for two children and one adult. They are available at the United Way office, 3000 Military Road, Niagara Falls, or from GNBC members. For more information, call 285-8461 or 745-3837.
