Dorothy Mae Bull Maier Killian, age 93, of Oxford, Florida, peacefully passed away on June 9, 2014.

Dorothy was born in Buffalo July 28, 1920, to Mabel Augusta Bull and Frederick Gilbert Bull. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1927 and married Milton Albert Maier on Dec. 6, 1941.

Dorothy was a competitive swimmer, loved to be outdoors, and was a loving, happy person. She was a wonderful friend, especially with her cousins and a group of girlfriends she enjoyed all her life. Her curiosity was always getting her into comical situations and we all laughed along with her during these times.

After the tragic death of her first husband, she remarried on Aug. 19, 1961, to Kenneth Allen Killian of Grand Island, and enjoyed more than 50 years of love and traveling with Ken and their friends. For several years, they lived between their home in Lake Worth, Florida, and Grand Island.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Dorolynn Mae Hawks of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Christine Ann Phillips of The Villages, Florida, and two stepsons, James Killian of Hampton, Virginia, and Richard Killian of The Sea Ranch, California. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road. There will be a luncheon immediately following at the Grand Island Fire Co. firehall, 2275 Baseline Road.
