Senior health care topic of NYS Women

The Niagara Frontier Chapter of New York State Women Inc. invites the public to hear Amy Boies-Riek at its Tuesday, Sept. 23, dinner meeting at Pane's Restaurant, 984 Payne Ave., North Tonawanda.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. Dinner is $19. For reservations, contact Phillips at 716-545-7054.

Boies-Riek will discuss current health care and other issues relevant to seniors and caregivers of seniors.

Boies-Riek has spent more than 25 years helping seniors choose health care options in New York. She is a licensed adult home administrator with an emphasis in rehabilitation services and medical assisting.

Her experience includes marketing in independent living; administration of community re-entry programs in Syracuse; skilled nursing admissions in Orchard Park, adult home administration in Hamburg and Orchard Park, and assisted living with home care in Wheatfield.

She trained in Ithaca; Boston, Massachusetts; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her career has taken her to different cities with national and local long-term care companies. Screening medical records at all levels of care, working with the health care system from hospital to home, and meeting with families and elder law attorneys led her to start her own geriatric care management business.

She is currently the owner of Elder Care Services of Western New York and teaches medical assistant majors at Niagara County Community College.
