Music Is Art 2014 drew tens of thousands of visitors to Buffalo's Delaware Park behind the Albright Knox on Saturday.

Presented with the purpose of "Exploring and reshaping music's cultural, social, and educational impact on our community" the 12-hour day and evening festival certainly fulfilled its mission. Included were countless examples highlighting Buffalo-Niagara's creativity with a bent on the unusual - in the forms of visual and live art; the performances of more than 100 bands with music from punk to Japanese, rock to reggae, and metal to new wave amassing eight stages; DJs situated near Hoyt Lake pounding out disco; a children's tent village; eclectic dancers; and countless genres of art, art and more art. Throw in dozens of food trucks, family activities plus social events for all ages, and this festival could only be deemed a resounding success - despite the uncertain fall weather that included brilliant morning sunshine, winds and afternoon showers.
