Obit: Gloria M. Watkins

Gloria M. Watkins entered peacefully into heaven Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, surrounded by family.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, James Richard (Dick) Watkins. She was the devoted mother of Richard (Kelly) Watkins, Danielle (Paul) Chopra, Sandra Watkins and Terri Cicatello. She was predeceased by two children, Calvin J. Jenkins Jr. and Judith A. (Jim) Bartolotta. Gloria was the loving grandmother of Calvin Jenkins III, Jennifer (Daniel) Fields, James (Tina) Bartolotta, Jeanine (William) Fletcher, Judy Pelletier, Jason (Mariann) Bartolotta, Jerrid (Jeannie) Bartolotta, Brandi (Samuel) O'Banion, Trey (Kimmie) Hill, Mathew Cicatello, Nathan Bundscho, Arielle Reed, Gabrielle Reed, Thomas Reed, Cody Busch and Leah Watkins and the late April (Mike) Cerrillo. She was the loving great-grandmother of Emily, Daniel, Andrew, Brianna, Sarah, Canon, Brooke, Alexis, Logan, Billy, Connor, Samantha, Amber, Cole, Callee, Isabella and Kane.

Gloria owned and operated the Square Restaurant on Grand Island Boulevard and the Grand Island Coffee Truck Service for many years. She drove the special needs school bus for the Grand Island school system for 15 years.

Gloria was a longtime member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church. She was an active member of the Can AM Midget Racing Club, and a member of the Grand Island Masonic Lodge, Layfayette Alumni and Women of Worship.

Friends may call at Kaiser Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 2587 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.
