55th anniversary observed

Polly and Doug Smith of Grand Island observed their 55th wedding anniversary Aug. 8 with a family dinner, including both children and three of four grandchildren, in Warfield's Restaurant, Clifton Springs, New York.

They were married Aug. 8, 1959, in the Trinity Reformed Church of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and have lived on Grand Island since 1967.

Both children, Joseph and Holly, are Grand Island High School graduates, and both are teaching, Joseph in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Holly in Groton, New York.
