The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present LehrerDance Saturday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m., in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts (North Campus). The performance is sponsored by M&T Bank. There will be a pre-performance talk at 7:15 p.m.

For the third year in a row, LehrerDance, Buffalo's very own internationally touring professional dance company, kicks off the M&T Bank Dance Series with its trademark blend of artistry and athleticism. This year's performance will feature two world premieres, including "Cash or Check?" and "Femeie de Lume."

"Cash or Check?" is a full company, jazzy romp set in a night club from a bygone era and set to gypsy jazz and blues. "Femeie de Lume" (Romanian for "Woman of the World") is an atmospheric work featuring one woman and four men, showcasing their beauty, strength and vulnerability.

The program will include audience favorites "Fused by 8," "Here in this Eden," "SuperZeroes" and "Pantheon Rising."

The dance company is pleased to count three UB theater and dance alumni among its ranks. Recent graduate Cristiana Cavallo (BFA, 2014) joins Colleen Walsh (BFA, 2010) and founder/artistic director Jon Lehrer (BFA, 2010). Cavallo was raised in Buffalo, as were her fellow company members Rachael Humphrey and Ryan Moguel.

Tickets for LehrerDance are available at the center box office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and tickets.com. To charge tickets, call 1-888-223-6000. For more information, call 716-645-2787 or visit www.ubcfa.org or www.lehrerdance.org.
