Buffalo is a city filled with endless opportunities for people of all ages during the summer months. Who isn't up for a fun time with friends, especially when food, drinks and music are involved? The various concerts that are held at Buffalo at the Harbor, along with the nearby restaurants and nightlife, allow everyone to experience a summer that is more than memorable.

Concerts

Hosting concerts for 14 years, Buffalo's waterfront continues to entertain Western New Yorkers. "I've been going to the concerts for the past seven years now," proclaimed Bev Summe of Akron. "I always look forward to the end of spring, because then I know the summer concerts are right around the corner."

Previous acts included Counting Crows, Weezer, LL Cool J, Flogging Molly and O.A.R. Buffalo at the Harbor provides various genres of music for everyone to enjoy.

Beginning in early June and ending in late September, Buffalo at the Harbor allows people plenty of time to relax and enjoy the summer weather. Located at 325 Fuhrmann Blvd., in Buffalo, the harbor is less than a half-hour drive from Niagara Falls. With ticket prices ranging from free to $50 depending on the concert, Buffalo at the Harbor provides its guests with reasonable prices.

"I know that some of the prices may seem unreasonable to some people, but it really is worth the price with all of the fun you end up having with your family and friends," Christine Sowinski said.

June is right around the corner, so people are beginning to search for tickets for the upcoming concerts. General admission tickets starting at $48.25 can be found at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets for the shows are also available at all Ticketmaster locations in the U.S. and Canada, including Walmart store locations. Reduced ticket prices can be found at the Town Ballroom box office located at 681 Main St., and the After Dark box office located at 630 Elmwood Ave. If you are unable to visit the website or box offices, feel free to charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

Additional information for the concerts include:

•Parking lots are open to the public two hours before posted gate time ($10 parking in the Outer Harbor lots; Free parking along Fuhrmann Boulevard)

•The concerts are always on, rain or shine

•No refunds or exchanges

•No chairs are allowed

•Traffic can get busy, so allow yourself an extra hour when coming to the show

Restaurants

Not only does Buffalo's harbor have plenty of concerts to choose from, a variety of restaurants are also located around the surrounding area. It doesn't matter if you prefer a burger or a salad, the local restaurants have numerous food selections for everyone to enjoy.

One restaurant that is popular with the locals is Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, with a menu consisting of quesadillas, soups, salads, burgers and pasta.

"Pearl Street never fails me and my friends," said loyal customer Greg Parzych. "We are laidback people always looking for a good time, and that's what the restaurant's atmosphere provides us with."

A more upscale restaurant also located walking distance from the concert venue is Chef's. The menu consists of calamari, veal, Alfredo and homemade lobster ravioli. It provides guests with a night that is more formal.

"I'm not as young as I used to be, so Chef's allows us to relax in more of a low-key setting compared to some of the other restaurants downtown," said Nancy Emerling, a frequent guest at the restaurant. "Even though my husband and I always order the same entrée, it always seems to be served better and better every time."

Nightlife

If you're looking for some more fun after the concerts, check out Buffalo's nightlife, which is walking distance from the harbor. Bars ranging from dance clubs to low-key cocktail hour make Buffalo's nightlife far from boring. Commonly populated with ages ranging from 18-29, the streets of downtown Buffalo are filled with your typical nightlife chaos of laughing, talking and dancing.

One of the more popular bars, known as Sky Bar, is an outside bar located on top of the building at 257 Franklin St. An entry fee of only $5 provides the guests with live music and cheap drink specials. As guests take an elevator to the rooftop, it creates the feeling of being at a bar in New York City.

"What I love most about Sky Bar is that it's on top of a roof," said Buffalonian Cody Wilkins. "Bars usually aren't my scene, but Sky Bar provides an atmosphere for all types of people."

No matter if you're looking for some good music, food or overall fun, downtown Buffalo provides people of all ages with a summer that is unforgettable.
