Mount St. Mary's Hospital will conduct its fifth annual "CardioCraze" Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8-11 a.m. at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston. The wellness walk incorporates Artpark, the neighborhood streets in the village, and Center Street. The event is open to the public and a fundraiser for the hospital's cardiology department.
The day will open with registration at 8 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Walkers will proceed south from Academy Park through Artpark, South Second Street, Center Street, and return to the park. The route covers approximately 1.8 miles.
Walkers have been soliciting sponsors for their efforts though there is no charge to participate in the walk. Anyone with $20 or more in donations will receive a free T-shirt.
"We have designed this as a family event that will place a focus on heart-healthy events and information," said Mount St. Mary's President and CEO Judith A. Maness. "There is a full morning of activity planned."
Morning refreshments will be provided courtesy of Tim Hortons. In addition to the refreshments, there will be an inflatable maze for children.
