Bring your favorite teddy bear to ride the carrousel at 'Teddy Bear Picnic'

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum invites children to bring their favorite teddy bear (or other stuffed animal) to the "Teddy Bear Picnic" from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Aug. 14. Children will be able to take their fuzzy friend on the carousel and play games from the past, such as marbles, clothespins in the bottle and spoon racing. There also will be crafts and face painting. Additionally, Omnipresent Puppet Theatre will present "The Three Little Pigs" at 1 p.m.

The cost is $6 per person. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission includes all activities, refreshments and carrousel rides. Kiddieland rides will be available at 50 cents per ride.

The event will take place at the museum, located at 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda. For more information, call the museum at 716-693-1885.

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, operated by the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier, is a premier national historic site and community resource for family recreation and learning that fosters an appreciation for the unique heritage of the carousel and related industries in the Niagara Region.
