Cheerleading competition part of Peach Festival

The Lewiston Kiwanis Club reports its cheerleading competition, an annual family favorite of the Niagara County Peach Festival, returns Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. to Academy Park.

The event is sponsored by DiMino's Tops Lewiston.

Participation is open to all-star, town and youth football cheerleading squads. Festival Chairman Charles Barber said participants will perform a maximum five-minute routine containing a cheer and music portion. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place.

Ann Marie DiMino-Hepfer, Carol Houwaart-Dietz, Ron Winkley, Margaret Toohey and Tom Deal will serve as judges.
