Tickets are available for the Buffalo Zoo animal keepers' annual "Bowling for Rhinos" event, which will take place Friday, Aug. 22, from 7-10 p.m. at Transit Lanes in Williamsville.

All proceeds from the event will benefit organizations that protect wild rhinos in Africa and Asia, including the International Rhino Foundation and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya.

Registration costs $30 per bowler and includes shoe rental, three games of bowling, dinner, beverages and refreshments. The event also will feature a basket auction including artwork created by the zoo's resident rhinos, and a chance to win a meet-and-greet with them.

Anyone who wishes to attend but would prefer not to bowl can purchase a ticket to the event for only $20.

For registration information, call 716-800-1BFR (1237) or email [email protected].

Bowling for Rhinos is hosted by the Buffalo Zoo in collaboration with the American Association of Zoo Keepers.
