Obit: Lincoln P. Nutting

Lincoln P. Nutting, formerly of Grand Island, passed away March 11, 2014.

Mr. Nutting was the husband of the late Barbara (Boyce) Nutting; beloved father of Mary Lyn Nutting (Bob Hartman); loving grandfather of Avery and Nate; dear brother of William and Edmund Nutting. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, March 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road.

He was a chemical engineer with Hooker Chemical in Niagara Falls for 27 years, retiring in 1970.

Linc shared his love of nature photography through art shows, slide lectures, and films. He was active in several art and nature societies. He was a member and past president of the Buffalo Audubon Society. His other memberships included: the Niagara Frontier Botanical Society; the Ornithological Society; the Buffalo Museum of Science; the Nature Conservancy, for which he made a film on Tifft Farm to have it established into a nature preserve; the Cataract Camera Club in the 1940s-1950s; and the Grand Island Art Society. He exhibited his photographs at numerous art shows, including Allentown, Lewiston and Quaker art shows. He did film and slide shows for community groups, children's groups and senior citizen groups at elder care facilities. He did an exhibit of his photographs in January and did slide shows in February at Orchard Heights in Orchard Park.
