George Osborne, president of Artpark & Company, announced today the appointment of Carrie Veltri to the newly created position of director of development.

In making the announcement, Osborne said, "Artpark is very fortunate to have attracted a person of Carrie's experience and expertise to this position. Our search committee, headed by Artpark board member Jane Mogavero, conducted a national search for this very important position, and we found the best candidate right here in greater Buffalo. I am delighted that Carrie will be joining our staff."

In accepting the position, Veltri said, "It was a pleasure to meet Jane and others from the board through the interview process. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to design and execute a development plan for an organization with such a fabulous foundation and reputation."

Veltri comes to Artpark directly from her position as director of development for major gifts for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo. She previously has held positions as director of development at the Center for the Arts at UB, Irish Classical Theatre, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, and Planned Parenthood of Buffalo and Erie County. She holds a bachelor's degree from Bethany College, and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Carrie currently serves on the board of directors of Music is Art and is board president of the Lewiston Council on the Arts. She and her husband and two children reside in the Deveaux section of Niagara Falls.
