UB Center for the Arts announces 2014-15 M&T Bank Dance Series

The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, has announced the 2014-15 M&T Bank Dance Series. All five performances will be held in the Center's Mainstage Theatre. Tickets are available now by subscription only. Individual tickets will go on sale Aug. 8.

Saturday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m.

Buffalo's internationally touring professional dance company kicks off the season with a concert showcasing the company's trademark blend of artistry and athleticism. The program will include two world premieres and audience favorites from the company's diverse body of work.

'The Rite of Spring with Richmond Ballet and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra'

Friday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m.; JoAnn Falletta, conductor

A very special evening to celebrate the 20th anniversary of UB Center for the Arts. Igor Stravinsky's enduring and influential masterwork sent shockwaves throughout the worlds of music and dance when it premiered in Paris in 1913. This performance will also mark the Western New York premiere of Richmond Ballet, the state ballet of Virginia.

Tango Buenos Aires

Monday, March 2, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.

Now touring for nearly 30 years, Tango Buenos Aires has become one of Argentina's great cultural exports, known throughout the world as an authentic and uncompromising representative of the tango. The troupe of dancers and musicians will perform a special program celebrating the life of Eva PerĂ³n ("Evita").

RIOULT Dance NY

Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 8 p.m.

Founded in 1994, RIOULT Dance NY fast became an established name in modern dance with a reputation for presenting the sensual, articulate and exquisitely musical works of Pascal Rioult. Making its Western New York premiere, the company will also be in residence for one week. 

Russian National Ballet Theatre in 'Don Quixote'

Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.

A full-length ballet in three acts and a crowning jewel of Marius Petipa's career, "The Sleeping Beauty" is often considered the finest achievement of classical ballet. The acclaimed company, under artistic director and former Bolshoi principal dancer Elena Radchenko, will perform Petipa's choreography set to the music of Peter Tchaikovsky.

Tickets are available now by subscription. Four performance series subscriptions are $94 (25 percent savings). Subscribers also have first opportunity to purchase tickets to "The Rite of Spring."
