Niagara County Community College is now a test site for the National Center for Competency Testing.

Dr. Sal Passanese, NCCC's division chair for science, health and mathematics, said, "This means medical assistant students are eligible to sit for four certification exams: national certified medical assistant (NCMA), national certified ECG technician (NCET), national certified phlebotomy technician (NCPT) and the national certified medical office assistant (NCMOA)."

"Phlebotomy certificate students are eligible to sit for the certification exam to become a nationally certified phlebotomy technician (NCPT)," he said.

Exams are open to graduates from other area institutions. For eligibility, they can visit www.ncctinc.com. Dates for testing are available in July and August, as well as throughout the next academic year.
