Proper disposal of unused and obsolete electronic devices at no cost to taxpayers
New York State Sen. Mark Grisanti will join Hamburg Town Supervisor Steven Walters, SunnKing and Time Warner Cable in hosting a free electronics recycling drop-off event Saturday, July 19, in the Town of Hamburg.
The event, which will be held rain or shine, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hamburg Town Hall, 6100 South Park Ave.
Electronic items that will be accepted include laptop computers, televisions, cellular telephones, video game consoles, desktop computers, printers, scanners and MP3 players.
Last year's electronics drop-off event in Hamburg resulted in more than 85,000 pounds of e-waste collected at no charge to taxpayers.
"We had a tremendous turnout last year in Hamburg, and I expect to see many of those people, as well as nearby residents who were unable to stop by last year," Grisanti said. "By recycling laptop computers, televisions, video game consoles and other items, we can keep them out of landfills and lighten the impact on our environment."
