Beaver Island State Park will sponsor a waterfowl ID course presented by the state Department of Environmental Conservation on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Beaver Island Club House.

This course, which is required for entry in waterfowl blind drawings at local state parks such as Beaver Island, will teach hunters how to properly identify various waterfowl in the field, and the hunting regulations that apply to each species.

Participants must pre-register by calling 716-773-3271. The session is free to attend.
