Bank will provide financial support for homebuyer education programs
The First Niagara Foundation and Niagara Falls Neighborhood Housing Services Inc. are partnering to provide educational support for first time homebuyers in Niagara Falls.
Home ownership classes will offer information on financial planning for home purchases, credit issues and foreclosure prevention. The First Niagara Foundation is providing a $5,000 grant to fund the program to provide first-time homebuyers with access to financial education and personal credit management tools.
"First Niagara is a huge proponent of initiatives that increase self-sufficiency, stabilize housing and improve our neighborhoods," said Buford Sears, First Niagara regional president, Western New York. "We're proud to partner with Niagara Falls Neighborhood Housing Services Inc. to contribute to stronger, more diverse and thriving communities."
The First Niagara Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable entity founded in 1998. It is committed to supporting organizations in the communities in which members live and work, with specific focus on youth and education, community development and neighborhood revitalization.
