The Lewiston town clerk's office informs that Niagara County has put the call for its incorporated municipalities to enlist public participation in a local hazard mitigation plan update. The plan is part of a federal requirement to identify hazards within the county and to explore means to reduce the risks and vulnerabilities to those hazards.

As part of the planning process, county residents are invited to participate by taking an online survey. The survey should not take more than 10 minutes to complete and the information collected will help paint a better picture of the resiliency of Niagara County.

To participate residents can visit the Niagara County Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/NCountyHMPpublicsurvey.

The link is currently live and will remain open until June 11.

County residents will have further opportunity to provide input and comments on this plan as the county moves forward toward completion. Those who wish to participate in other aspects of the planning process may do so by furnishing their personal information on the last question of the survey. Those who wish to remain anonymous can skip the last question.
