The O'Jays join Gladys Knight for the "Family Reunion Tour"

Artpark brings the best of Motown to the outdoor amphitheater stage as part of the popular "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" concert series. "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knight and living legends The O'Jays team up for their "Family Reunion Tour," making a stop at the Lewiston venue on Aug. 20.

Knight will take the stage at 7 p.m. sharp. After a brief intermission, the O'Jays will perform.

Very few singers over the past 50 years have matched Gladys Knight's indisputable artistry. This eight-time Grammy winner has enjoyed No. 1 hits in pop, R&B and adult contemporary, and has triumphed in film, television and live performance.

In the early '60s, Gladys Knight & The Pips were established when Knight was just 16. With Knight singing lead and The Pips providing lush harmonies and graceful choreography, the group went on to achieve iconic status, having recorded some of the most memorable songs of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Top 20 hits, including "Every Beat of My Heart," "Letter Full of Tears," "I Heard it Through the Grapevine," "If I Were Your Woman," and the No. 1 smash "Midnight Train to Georgia," established Gladys Knight and The Pips as a premiere pop/R&B vocal ensemble.

Knight enjoyed another No. 1 hit in 1985 when she teamed with Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Dionne Warwick on "That's What Friends are For."

The O'Jays are American treasures known for their energetic live performances and 24 Top 10 singles. After 50-plus years making such international hits as "Love Train," "Backstabbers," "For The Love Of Money," "Darlin' Darlin' Baby," "I Love Music," "Use Ta Be My Girl" and "Have You Had Your Love Today," The O'Jays are showing no signs of slowing down.

There is no opening act for this concert. Amphitheater gates will open at 4:30 p.m. No food or beverage carry-ins are permitted in the amphitheater. Visit www.artpark.net for more venue ground rules and parking information.

Tickets are $10 before Sunday, Aug. 18. From Sunday through the day of show, tickets are $15. Priority tickets are still available for $25, and allow access to a limited, general admission, standing-room-only area directly in front of the stage. $50 VIP tickets are sold out for this event.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Artpark Box Office (Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), by phone at 716-754-4375 or 1-888-223-6000, or anytime online at www.artpark.net or www.tickets.com.
