Old Fort Niagara will honor first responders and veterans with two separate programs during May. On May 4, OFN will offer free family admission to all firefighters, ambulance and law enforcement personnel. May 4 is International Firefighters Day, and the fort will admit first responders and their families free of charge from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

On May 17, Armed Forces Day, OFN will offer free family admission to all active duty military and veterans from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On both days, visitors will see musket firings, 18th century skills demonstrations and have the chance to take a guided tour of the fort. First responders, veterans and active duty military are asked to bring identification confirming their status.

OFN's board of directors approved the plan earlier this year as a way to say "thank you" to those who keep local communities safe.

Old Fort Niagara is located in Youngstown, 14 miles north of Niagara Falls via the Robert Moses Parkway North.
